It’s hard for me to explain the ocean in Hawaii. The water is so blue it looks fake. It wasn’t like the Pacific Ocean that I’d seen before in California. It had a serene quality to it that made think it was out of this world.
“This ocean looks so alien,” I said.
“It’s one of the most beautiful things in the world,” she said.
I put my hand on her cheek. The light from the setting sun lit her face up just so. The beauty in her eyes lit me up. I put my lips to hers to finally taste her. Her lips tasted of bubble gum and fruit, which was weird because I hadn’t seen her chew any gum. But I didn’t dwell long on that. I moved my tongue across her sweet lips and lightly gripped her jaw. I trailed one of my hands down her back, sliding my fingernails down her skin, feeling her skin rise where I touched her. My fingertips stopped at the luscious curve of her lower back. Her arms were around my neck but she quickly started to explore. We were standing outside of her beach hut. She untied my bikini top, and my breasts dropped out but were quickly in her hands. Our breathing turned into panting.
“We need to go inside,” she said.
She led me into her cottage, the breeze behind us. I briefly looked around but her fingertips were on my face – her eyes deep into mine before I could do anything.
“You should stay with me for a while,” she whispered.
“What do you mean? I have to work…”
“I mean for tonight.”
“Oh.”
“I have to meet my parents on another island tomorrow for Thanksgiving, but I want to spend tonight with you.”
My heart sunk and exploded at the same time. She could read the disappointment in my eyes.
“Don’t worry, love,” she said. “I’ll be back to see you off on Sunday.”
She kissed my mouth and everything she’d said a few seconds before melted away.
My bikini top hung from my neck, still undone behind me. She expertly undid the top and slipped the wrap off my shoulders.
